Why don’t you enable that possibility even for installations that already have active SSL?

We may want to be able to easy switch to plugin’s solution for it.

Btw. This is awesome you provided it anyway and a big step. so thumbs up!

    Hi @kramarz,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

This will be added in the future. Right now, it’s only available for users without SSL, or with an SSL generated by Really Simple SSL. It will be extended step by step.

For now, when in SSL settings, you can add &tab=letsencrypt behind the URL and hit enter. The plugin will take you to the SSL certificate wizard.

Please note that it depends on your hosting provider if it is possible auto or manually install the generated certificate.

Hey mate, I did a test on website with SSL that was about to expire.

On step when you need to enter cPanel url, after clicking next I ended up on 404 page.

When I have left that field empty all went well, but I assume it’s not going to be auto-renewed now.

So, to sum up and ask:

    1) had an error on cPanel url step
    2) is this option only valid for single website cPanels, or can this be used on cPanels that host many websites?

Also, I think it would be best if you would made it clear and optional regarding cPanel, as many websites sit on hosts without cPanels.

Your plugin could still be used to generate SSL for those, but of course no auto renewals will be possible.

@kramarz cpanel is optional, generation of a certificate should always be possible. In some cases you’ll need to install manually.

What is the URL you get redirect, which results in a 404? I can’t reproduce this behaviour.

I got no redirect, it stayed on the same link as I would be on settings page, but end up on front end 404 website page.

That is strange. If you can enable debugging, then send the debug.log to support (at) really-simple-ssl.com, and maybe a screenshot of the settings page where you have entered the cpanel URL, we can take a look if we see something that could explain this behaviour.
