Why so much !important? (2 posts)

When using the unordered list option many CSS rules have an !important. Is this really necessary? This makes it quite hard to overwrite these settings within a template.

It would also be useful to be able to set a class for each list item.

Hi, thanks for your comment. Actually, the default style is meant to preserve a "standard look". This is in no way a solution for everyone, people with more advanced knowledge can use their own CSS styles.

You can set a CSS class for list and block wrappers (using wrapper_list_css and wrapper_block_css), then set rules for elements under them. To use your own CSS styles, save the css file under your active theme's root folder (where the style.css is found) then use the parameter css_style=my_css_filename.

As lists are generated dynamically it wouldn't be possible to set individual classes for each item, as we don't know how many items it would have every time it's generated. However, you could use jQuery to add classes to each element after they've been generated.

I will explore different ideas to simplify customization.
