Your website is not slow due to scripts. While I agree we need to find a way to eliminate the scripts when corresponding elements are not visible, the reason why the site is slow is due to a waiting period of 1.2 to 2.2 seconds for server to respond when a request is made. You need to talk to your host and find out why this is happening. To verify this, can you pls deactivate the plugin temporarily and see if the speed improves significantly? I doubt it but you can give a try and let me know if things improve in a major way.

While SiteOrigin has a built-in way to eliminate scripts when the corresponding page builder elements are not being employed on a page, individual developers have to find a custom way to achieve this with Visual Composer. Will think about optimizing the same in future releases. Thanks
