Why no ‘Clip to WP’ plugin for browser or WP? ‘Press This’ only clips a bit
-
I know “Press This” became a plugin. I have the latest version of the plugin. It succeeds in capturing a few lines from the top of posts, but not everything, and not in the original format. For example, I’m trying to clip a public Facebook post and its comments. None of the comments get included, and only a few lines from the post are included. (I tried on many posts – same result.) (A screenshot won’t suffice – I want people to be able to select text.)
Why is there no “WordPress Webclipper” / “Clip to WordPress”?
It could be a plugin for WordPress that operates via bookmarklet like “Press This”, or it could be a browser plugin like Evernote Webclipper.
Why does no such tool exist? The Gutenberg block editor’s embed Facebook feature doesn’t work as desired – it may embed a post, but none of the comments. Also, if there are 1000 comments on a post, and I want to feature only one or two, I need to be able to edit what is included.
