• ok. I understand you want a wordpress.com account for whatever reason. But when you do this you will have to let your users choose this wordpress account. When I installed this I noticed a wrong Email for wordpress.com. Why? Because it was reading the connection from Jetpack! What is this logic? I bet someone is breaking his head how to fix this error.

  • Hi @orloxgr

    Thanks for sharing your experience.

We utilize Jetpack services to establish a secure connection to WordPress.com. This connection is automatically established through any connected WordPress.com account, and currently, we do not provide an option to change the connected account as it would affect other extensions relying on it. (It’ll break other WordPress.com connection on the site as they use the same tech)

The specific WordPress account linked isn’t important; its sole purpose is to establish the connection. Any WordPress.com account works, even if the email differs from your Google account.

However, we understand that some users prefer to choose the connected WordPress.com account, and we hope to offer this capability in the future.

Its not so simple @sukafia. If the wordpress.com account differs from the google merchant account for some reason the plugin simply doesn’t work.

For it to work I had to disconnect my wordpress.com account from jetpack and create a new jetpack account with the same email i was using for google merchant. Maybe because my wordpress.com account is using the same email as google account which also has a merchant account.

    Hi @orloxgr

    Thanks for your response.

I confirm using the same account (email) for Google and WordPress.com isn’t a requirement. I double-checked while typing this response and the setup works when the emails differ. No logic in the extension checks if both emails are the same and there’s no connection between a Google and WordPress.com account.

I suspect there was some other issue with the connection. If you’d like us to take a deeper look at your experience, please contact us at WooCommerce.com > My Account > Support. You may need to create an account before you can access that page.
