• I just put forward an argument about why themes do not fall under GPL. This was immediately censored and removed. I demand to know why? It had a distinctly different approach than most others in this discussion and should be allowed to be made even if it doesn’t fit the views of whoever oversees this forum.

  • It’s not censored as far as I know. I did not delete the article so can’t say why it was removed. Maybe it was not considered appropriate for the forum, maybe there is some better place for such a discussion?

this is for support of WordPress software – not philosophical discussions on GPL

I deleted the post as not relevant to a support forum

there are not any discussions on this forum about this topic, so the point is moot

Of course it’s relevant in the support forum. It’s about how to use WordPress and what to use it for. Where is the better place to discuss this if not here? And seriously, this is really not philosophy, it’s law, and it’s facts.

I ment the discussion as a whole. This is a rare point — sill unanswered partly because of this kind of censorship.

Actually the place for such discussion would be the wp-hackers mailing list, or possibly one of the irc dev chats. This is meant to be a support forum, not somewhere for developmental debate.

Certainly reads like a philosophical topic to me(having gone and had a look at the thread).

Can you not post what you wanted to say on your website or blog?

If you feel strongly, why not take it up with some of the devs on the dev blog.

Or also the tavern can be good for these kinds of discussions.
