My host (GoDaddy) put me on a Europe based server but my readers are in USA (99%). Does this affect speeds?

By the way, these forums would be so much better if people like you stopped using them to post pointless, one line replies. Let users decide if they find the question of interest.

    Nice website BTW.

i don't think so, because mostly servers are away from our sites ..... you should care just for your content ,,,,

  7. I'll ask this differently Michelle, so you can understand alchymyth's answer: "I'm using plain HTML. My server is in Europe and my users are in the USA. Does this matter?"

That's the same question you asked :) And an answer: It can.

Doesn't matter what your app is, though. WordPress, Drupal, plain HTML. It MIGHT be slower. Depends on how good the servers are, which is up to your host.

If your WordPress site is loaded with visitors, eating traffic and resources, and you care about performance and speed, then you've to consider the location.

  9. Well you have to know where the visitors are from :) A lot of people assume "I'm US based. All my visitors are too!" but that's a gut feeling. Check your metrics :)
