Support » Theme: Misty Lake » Why is image less sharp after publishing in Misty Lake

  • When I upload images to my site (I use Misty Lake and am using insamnity plugin) I see a sharp image in the backend of WordPress. But on the published version (the site the visitor sees) the uploaded image is a lot less sharp.

(I have set the opacity to 1, so I dont have the hover issue anymore, but I seem to lose quality after publishing. The backend image stays fine).

Any ideas how to fix this issue?

    Thanks,
    Emile

Hi there, you haven’t included a link to the site so that I can take a look. I’ve not used Insamnity, so I’m not sure how well it does at resizing and downsizing images. What I would suggest as a test is that you prepare an image in your image editing program on your computer to about 1000px in width (given that Misty Lake has a content width of 619px) and upload that to a test post or page and then preview that page and see how the image looks. This will help to determine if it is Insamnity causing the loss in quality.

    Hi there,

Thanks for responding! My site is http://www.purmerendleeft.nl/ (a cityblog for the town of Purmerend, The Netherlands).

The issue is so strange, because I see crisp images in the backend. These images were also uploaded via Insamnity. Somehow the publishing process reduces the image quality.

I have just changed the upload size in Imsanity to 619 px (it was set to 627px).

Perhaps the resizing to fit the Misty Lake template causes the issue… I’ll let you know.
