• While you are waiting for changes that would improve practicality, the Gutenberg gets unpractical with every new update. Now I have to click on a separate button to start adding caption to my images! … Gutenberg requires more and more clicks with every new update for the same simple tasks. Why is that? What is the logic behind slowing down the content creators?

Again, checking the word count was the click of a button, now it requires two clicks… Just why? What’s point of hiding everything behind more clicks?

  • Thank you for your review @senjii and for providing those two specific and constructive examples. As the block editor adds more features, parts of the UI will be iterated upon to make it more consistent but I totally get how requiring more clicks can interrupt the writing flow.

I would encourage you to join the discussion or open an issue about this if you feel this latest iteration of Gutenberg’s UI could be improved.
