  • Hi Jacob,

Most themes use the_excerpt function in order to display the post summary. This theme uses it too and additionally displays the button with the text “Continue Reading”. If you wish to get rid of it and display the full length of the post, please do the following three steps.

    1. Create a child theme.

    1. Replace the_excerpt function with the_content function. In this theme, it is written at line number of 18 in featured-content.php file.

    2. Hide the line number 19 in featured-content.php file.

    I hope that helps.

Hi I understand this will get rid of the continue reading button. But what I am finding is that when I click on the “Continue Reading” button it takes me to a 404 page not found.

Where should this button take me to, anything I need to do for it work?

Sorry am quite new to web design!

    Thanks in advance

Hey there. If your “Continue reading” button links you to a 404 page, something is not right, and most likely a plugin conflict. Please try and deactivate all plugins one by one and see if the problem persists. If you’re able to figure out which plugin is causing the conflict, please don’t hesitate to let us know 🙂

    Thanks!
