Why files are changing everyday?

  • I have a file change monitor installed on my WordPress site, that sends me report of any modification in the file system. Everyday I receive bunch of reports on “Added files”, “Modified files”, and “Deleted files”. Here’s an example of one of them:

    wp-content/cache/minify/000000/hY7dDoIwDIVfiDENJj4PjgIl64ZtZ9zbMxBM5MaLpj_nO20bOz0TcK6avTCEA7cKNWGortZxm2MwkoO2bzPiMPoSCmwnsQXZgY2-WReJIKhhmH0-NsRidWr6yGTuFoPzqQNZ_Z-L9ar8h8UxzirV5WfqkmikPZ208ko6blB8oId1coJ61Bd231e2ThY.js

Besides, every time I login to my admin, it gives me the popup: “Unsuccessfull file transfer”. So I have to empty the queue or upload to CDN.

I don’t change any CSS or Javascript. Nor do I update or install any plugin. No changes are made on the site. So, why do the files change everyday so frequently?

  • Cached files have an expiration time, then they are regenerated.
You may even check how much they last on some W3 TC admin pages.
