I recently installed WordPress 2.0 and I’ve been (slowly and painfully) importing my old blog posts into it. I’ve noticed an annoying glitch in the process.

Non-coded line breaks are not being ignored. IOW, I only want WP to display breaks if a
or
is coded. Due to idiosynchracies of my old blogging software, my posts are littered with carriage returns that are not intended to be part of the entries as displayed. When viewed by themselves in any browser or editor, the posts display fine, but when WP displays them, the carriage returns are converted to
tags.

Is there a way to stop this annoying behavior?
