If I selected admin fees, shouldn’t the percentage field ask for the % admin fee instead of “This will be the default commission(in percentage or fixed) paid to vendors if product and vendor-specific commission is not set.” What’s the point of choosing admin fee if I’m still inputting the vendor’s percent? Or was admin fee only for a flat fee?

Where is the difference actually seen with either choice?

When you select the commission mode as “Admin Fess”, the What to Pay section takes the input values for admin fees only.

Means, if you have set commission value as 80% and the commission mode is for Admin Fess. In that case, when a product is sold (suppose the product cost is 100), then admin will get 80% of 100 = 80 and vendor will receive (100-80) = 20

Now, “This will be the default commission(in percentage or fixed) paid to vendors if product and vendor-specific commission is not set.” message os to notify that this section ultimately controls how much commission vendors will get.

To help you out further, we have a documentation on the commission settings configuration: https://wc-marketplace.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-commission-and-other-payments-for-wcmp/

So it should say “admin or vendor” percent because it’s not the percentage vendors get but the percentage admin gets as you confirmed. One could accidentally give all vendors the admin’s commission because of the instructions.

These fields determine what both Admin and Vendor will receive.

However, We will look into this text so that our users get a clear idea of this field.
