Support » Plugin: Yoast SEO » Why does Yoast show Page Builder Shortcode as OG: Description?

We’ve been alerted to a website that is showing either an empty OG Description, or Page Builder code, from the PB used for the website page.

It’s been added correctly in the Facebook and Twitter card section, but it ignores it.

How do we force it to show that text in the OG:Description please?
the same goes for the OG Title. It just shows the page title, no other details.

    Hey!

I understand that you are seeing either an empty OG description or a bad one that includes shortcodes from your Page Builder plugin, despite having set a custom description.

That’s odd, when a custom one is set, it should not grab the first amount of content as the OG:description. Can you show us an example URL where this happens? Are you using the latest versions of all plugins and themes?

It turns out the culprit was Blog2Social plugin. That was trying to add code too, which I spotted in comments in the view source.

    It’s all fine now. Thanks.

But yeah – look out for that plugin as it has a tool that adds the Meta code, when you dont’ really want it.

Ah great, happy to hear you found the culprit.
