[resolved] Why do my blogs take several minutes to load? (6 posts)

I have two wordpress blogs and about two days ago something went wrong. Both blogs take one to seven minutes to load. The page is blank for one to seven minutes and then instantly the whole page is loaded.

The first blog, deckersinblue.com runs wordpress 2.5.1 and the second blog runs wordpress 2.3.3. I prefer not to give out the address of the second blog.

I have not updated or changed anything on the server in a month or so, except a few posts on one blog.

If I put an html file in the root directory of the server it will load without any issues. So I don't think that apache is causing any problems.

I am running PCLinuxOS 2007, Apache 2.2.3, PHP 5.1.6, and MySQL 5.0.45 on this web server at my home.

    Here's what I have tried:
    I have restarted apache.
    I have restarted mysqld.
    I have rebooted the computer.
    I have deactivated the plugins.
I deleted the most recent post.
I have run a speedtest and the upload seems to be the same as it usually is, about 350-400kbps.

I can't think of anything else to try. I have read lots of other posts and the documentation and did not find anything that described the issue exactly or helped me to fix it.

If you need more info, please ask.

It's been two days ago and it is still extremely slow. Does anyone know what is causing this?

Could it be something that your ISP is doing?

I wouldn't think it's my ISP since html files work just fine.

A tracert shows a timeout after:

Could be a router activity? At any rate, it looks like it's a v-e-r-y slow connection to your web server. I'd check with your web host to see what's happening.

It's working again! To find out if it was my ISP, I decided to try other ports. When changing the port # on my httpd.conf, my zoneedit.com account and in my router, it didn't work at all. So I changed it back to port 80. Everything started working again. Doesn't make sense to me, but I am just happy it is working again. Thanks for the help.
