Why didn’t WordPress start featured image this way? This is not just a time saver (stopping the need for more screens to open for such a simple thing) but it saves a heck of a lot of confusion!!! I’m not new to WP or running sites but the featured image thing has been making me feel stupid (and older). I continually get my images doubled on the front page of my site. I adjust code and it works, then some of them come back doubled again. I think it must be from changing themes or plugins. Fixing the same issue again is the real time waster. Then I’m trying to understand where the image is doubling and… so on.

I have the auto featured image plugin because I have not yet gotten used to remembering to use featured image. The entire thing just seems an extra complication when no one needed featured images for years. Just add it to your post and go, no featuring necessary. Anyway, not set on turning this into a rant.

Just wanted to vote up your plugin (before I have even downloaded and tried it) because the very idea of it is excellent and should be used in WordPress itself rather than the current process in place now. SO much easier to just add the image as featured in the first place. Really, how did they not think of this themselves? It is so self explanatory and saves so much hassle.

    Thank you!
