    Hello,

    I took a lot of trouble to change the primary subsite of my multisite.(To make subsite2 the main site). The process included editing config.php and database.

    Because that was what all the instructions online told me to.

    Yesterday, I happened to do stuff with the official WordPress Importer plugin and it hit me!

    Why didn’t I simply export the posts of the subsite2 and import them to the main site? Then delete subsite2 and redirect!

    And just edit broken links inside posts only. Nowhere else.

    I am surprised why no one suggested that even when I talked developers?

    Please tell me there is something wrong with this shortcut.

    Or did I just stumbled upon an innovation? is it so simple that it didn’t occur to the experts?

    [This is not a support question per se. More of curiosity. But if it is deemed valid, I would volunteer to update relevant entries. I went through a lot of trouble, so others shouldn’t.)

    @moderator.
    Perhaps you should move it to networking wordpress support forum, considering the number of related problems postes there – even if my post is not a support question.

    My post is not a fix or feature request to WordPress core, rather to how we use it or advice people to use it.

    You may as well delete it. No personal interst here.
