I’m so mad at WP I could spit! Sorry for getting so grahpic. But I spent 40 mins. writing an intricate post. I stupidly didn’t save it in draft mode along the way. After finishing the post, I clicked upload to upload an image for the post. After uploading, I used my Back button to return to the post box. Much to my chagrin, all my work was gone.

Is there any way to avoid this short of saving before you use the Upload feature? I just moved from Typepad to WP & the way TP deals w. this issue is to open an upload pop up window (using js). Why doesn’t WP do this? Or is there a plug in that will help me do this?

I just open the Upload admin panel in a new browser tab. (I love Firefox! :)

This plugin provides a graphic button that opens Upload in a new window:

    Thanks, I’ve uploaded it.

I also installed the exhibit plugin which explicitly says in the post panel “you must save your post before uploading an image.” Now that’s the way I like these things–clear, simple & straightforward.
