• Hello,
Once I installed Authorsure a hyperlink appeared on the left side of the screen on my site.

    My site is: http://www.follikill.com

I’ve looked through the source code and it’s not clear to me where it’s originating from so I can’t even move it offscreen.

I’d rather not uninstall Authorsure so it would be great if you could have a look and tell me where in the code I can find this link to either delete or move it where it’s not just dangling in midair.

    Thanks in advance!

Just a follow up to explain what happened so you can fix it if it happens to you.

Authorsure activated a google hyperlink in my theme that I didn’t know was there. It took going through all the files 3x before I found the authorship markup that came with the theme and deleted it.

I don’t think even the plugin developer knew why this happened because my numerous inquiries into this problem went unanswered.

It is your WordPress theme, and not AuthorSure, that controls the Author markup on your site, for example it creates the author boxes at the head of each post.

AuthorSure has NOTHING to do with the code in the header

    <a href="https://plus.google.com/u/0/106687836525064749109?rel=author"></a>

AuthorSure has no interaction with the WordPress theme so does NOT activate this feature.

The way you might have used AuthorSure on this site was on the author archive page however since the author page, http://www.follikill.com/author/torontoelectrolysisgmail-com/ is disabled (it is redirected to the home page), it seems you are not using any of AuthorSure’s features.

Therefore for the sake of site efficiency you are advised to deactivate AuthorSure and any other plugins you are not using.

An Aside: The Legs Image is Clickable

BTW: the legs image you have on the image is clickable – this is an an error as it interferes with the menu when scrolling down.

You should remove the anchor around the image:

    Replace

    <a href="http://www.follikill.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/legs-cutout.png"><img src="http://www.follikill.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/legs-cutout-1024x800.png" alt="silky legs" width="904" height="771" class="static image size-large wp-image-1421 alignleft" style="position:fixed;bottom:-175px; left: -240px;"></a>

    by

    <img src=”http://www.follikill.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/legs-cutout-1024×800.png&#8221; alt=”silky legs” width=”904″ height=”771″ class=”static image size-large wp-image-1421 alignleft” style=”position:fixed;bottom:-175px; left: -240px;”>

You could also resize the image legs-cutout-1024×800.png – it only needs to be around 480 by 320 px in size if you crop the extra white space.
