Why can’t there be a sort order for plugins?

    When looking for a plugin the presentation appears to be random.

    I would like to sort the plugins by things like number of active installations or the version of WordPress, or the reviews etc.

    Having an unsortable list of plugins is so 20th Century…! Isn’t it time the WordPress.org website caught up and allowed users to sort the plugin directory in any way they want?
