Why can't I modify the text box colour?

  • All I want to do is have a static background and text over it. I tried to achieve this but even with the “infidels customisable X I am apparently not allowed to have my way. Surely there is a simple solution to my simple desire. Any ideas?

Are you using CSS for this?

What theme are you using? Where did you download it from? What is “infidels customisable X”?
Always include as much information as possible

Infinitely customisable, sorry, not infidels, written at 3:00 am after giving up again for the day.
Damn predictive text… The theme I referred to is “X The Theme”.

Re css, total noob but not totally stupid so first steps with css last in the hour or so before the plea for help.

I have tried this on a wide assortment of themes to no avail. I finally bought X because of assurances that it would have a template that would do exactly what I needed but I’m unable to find such a thing or even the option to modify the existing text boxes. The current one is Singl. The site is venturedeeper.com.
