  • On any form I set up that includes a field for an email address, the email address field is yellow, despite how I stule it (but I’m no expert). The search input field is able to be styled, but a “subscribe me” and a contact form’s email addres field are always yellow. There is no yellow CSS anywhere.

Can anyone explain this to me?

You have the Google Toolbar installed, and it’s telling you that it can automatically fill that space in for you with the AutoFill feature.

Aha! Thanks. I had just realized that another computer wasn’t doing it and was going to figure out what was different.

Well, that makes me have to redo something. I have black backgrounds and white text for the input fields. If yellow overrides it, you cannot even see the white text! Darn.

Simplest solution: Set the color of your input fields in CSS separately, and make that setting !important. If you’ve never used this, google for it, it is a thing peculiar to CSS.

Google Toolbar cannot override the colors when those colors are defined as !important.
