Less functional, it’s like a smart phone app where you get to guess what’s behind each icon because the developer thinks it looks cool. Why, when I have all this desktop screen real estate to work with? It’s a pain trying to write a post that used to be second nature.

I don’t need to “focus”, which is just WordPress’ way of saying we’re going to hide everything you need to do your job. Oddly enough, this review block isn’t Gutenberg and it’s almost exactly what I need.

Which block did you have trouble with? except for a few, every block has a name that describes its function.

Might be your theme…are you using an old or unsupported (or both!) theme?

Maybe you can get away with TinyMCE Advanced, it offers a paragraph block on steroids.

    Hope it helps.

It’s not the blocks that are the problem Orlando Alonzo. I don’t want to use the blocks. Navigating like I used to be able to is the problem. I rarely ever used the visual editor. I used the code editor mostly. It doesn’t appear there’s any way to add photos from the code editor screen like I used to be able to.

My site is heavily dependent on a lightbox plugin that requires shortcode and uses a ton of photos. That’s how I’ve been running my site for 3 years.
