  • We’ve just recently gone through some staffing changes and I’m now responsible for much of the website maintenance. Can somebody help point me towards our website admin or tell me who holds the rights? Everybody I’ve talked to in the building is unsure; I’ve emailed the guy who originally designed the webpage, but I haven’t heard back from him either.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Who is my admin?

For your own site, that would be you.

The best way proceed is to really (nicely!) get in touch with the person who set that up and ask them for the user ID and password to log into your WordPress site.

If that does not work or the person just isn’t available then you will need to do some administrative work. You need to identify who your theater pays to host your WordPress installation.

Your site is hosted by a hosting provider, try and contact them and see if they can assist you. If they can, then review this with them.

Make sure you or someone else on your staff reviews that link with your host provider. It contains methods to get into your site when the password is lost. You situation is pretty much that right now.

I am assuming you have a self hosted site and you are asking about the administrator user of your WordPress site.

A few questions to get started:
Do you know who the webhosting company is that is hosting your website? (maybe dreamhost)
Can you access the database in your webhosting account?
If you can access the database in your webhosting account then it will be possible to see all of the users including the administrator user(s) all listed in one of tables of the database.

Getting to the database will be the first step to solving your question.

You might need to ask the support team at the webhosting company to help you locate the database if you have recently taken over responsibility for managing your website.
