WHM Domain Change and WordPress Issues Galore

    Original domain: http://www.abandonedplaygrounds.com
    New domain: http://www.wuhwild.com

    I was in need of merging abandonedplaygrounds with my new domain wuhwild.
    I wanted to keep all of my wordpress posts etc etc but change only the .com

    I did not realize this page was in existence: http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

    I logged into my WHM > Account Functions > Modify an Account > Primary Domain

    I changed my primary domain from abandonedplaygrounds.com to wuhwild.com

    WordPress went retarded and ultimately I decided to start over.
    I had backed up all of my initial wordpress files in a “backup” folder and simply created a new database while the original abandonedplaygrounds database was set to the side.

    So.. to start over.. I removed the new wordpress files (which I had created after 100 failed attempts of connected the new domain with any sort of wordpress activity), I pulled the backup files back to where they originally belonged, I changed the primary domain back to abandonedplaygrounds.com and all should have worked.. as I believed the database information should have remained the same with my original (backed up) files.

    After this was done, my wp-admin would not load. In fact, my entire abandonedplaygrounds.com website would not even try to load.

    Contact my host?? They are AWFUL.
    The initial host was good but after updating to VPS – WOW AWFUL
    They could care less, they don’t care, they will even take over 24 hours just to give me a one liner with NOTHING in relation to what I had asked – no matter the situation.

    So.. today, I decided that since reverting back to how it WAS and that did not work.. I may as well attempt to move in the original direction intended – wuhwild.com

    I backed my files up, I changed the primary domain, I installed a new wordpress from scratch since I already knew that keeping my original wordpress files active would not work.

    WordPress was now working but blank.
    I uploaded my abandonedplaygrounds theme.. it showed.

    I went into my SQL database and imported the initial SQL information so that I could regain my previous articles etc etc.
    As soon as that completes, wp-admin logs me out – website does not show.

    I now copied my entire and original wp-content folder over to the new wordpress and NOW, my website shows with all of my articles…

    BUT..

    the images all link to abandonedplaygrounds.com

    AND

    wp-admin does NOT load.

    It simply redirects me directly to wuhwild.com, where ALSO, my CSS does NOT load.

    So the index page is loading my header, index and footer but NO CSS
    NO WP-ADMIN

    and who knows what else is wrong.

    Any clue?

    and holy cow.
    I went into my sql and changed ANYTHING that said abandonedplaygrounds

    It wasn’t until I reached wp_NAMEoptions that after updating siteurl did wp-admin, css, images and EVERYTHING work as it should.

    Thank GOD. What a burden lifted
