  • Hi guys,

    My developer and I are hung up on a pesky issue we can’t seem to resolve. It’s on most of my webpages, but here’s an example

    If the browser window not very wide, it creates this whitespace on the right – you can see if you shrink the browser window then scroll right.

    Any ideas on what may be causing this?

  • I can’t see any white space, could you add a screenshot?

    Yep, here you go:

    s/s 1
    s/s 2

    I’m using a mac, chrome browser. The browser window needs to be narrowed a little for it to come up.

    Thanks for having a look. Derek

    Hey I’m so sorry, I just saw this, I’m sure it can be your cache or browser, I can’t see this whitespace, I tried on and there’s no whitespace,
    hope you resolved this!

    Hi Dafne,

    Thanks for that. Yep, I certainly cleared caches – it’s not just on my computer, it’s on various devices. I went to the website you gave – this is what I got:

    Are you sure you don’t see it if you scroll right? It would be interesting to know…

    Thanks, Derek

    I can’t see what you’ve got!

    and no, I can’t see any blank space, I tried also in firefox and no, I don’t event have the horizontal scroll active.

    I imagine you could fix this with a max-width and overflow hidden ?

    very strange.

    I have:

    html, body .maincontent {
    max-width: 100%;
    overflow-x: hidden;

    Still there. It drives me nuts. Any other suggestions? I don’t even know where to begin…

    Thanks, Derek
