As is, the plugin doesn’t handle variable sized screens as well as it could. The white space is the difference between the height of the image that is reduced and the height of the slider that you’d set in the widget. Any fix that I make for this will work for some cases and not for others.

It can be fixed to fit your needs via CSS, but hard to do in the core plugin without making it too complicated or not right for enough people.

    Thanks for replying David.
Any suggestions of where to start with the CSS to make it work?
Not super proficient in it, but being pointed in the right direction I might be able to make the fix.

The plugin itself in the views/display.php file applies a max-height to the images based on what you choose on the widget page. It’s going to use that height throughout. (check lines 31 and 38 in that file)

You can either override this in your stylesheet with media queries at certain places (say shrinking the height on mobile), or do a bit more work to scale the slide heights comparable to the width.
