White Space above header I want GONE

I’m using the Twenty Ten theme 1.2 (and I’m not updating now, because I’ve got complicated things done. And I’m not messing around with child theme stuff, because I’ve heard bad things about them). Above my header with the title, I want a THIN white border (like the width from the far left of the box to “The”) and no silly line of black. Thanks in advance.

I’m not advanced in CSS, PHP or WordPress. Please explain what file and WHERE IN THAT FILE to edit. And please don’t throw tutorials at my way because I really just want a solution!!! Thank you!
