    Hi guys,

I just downloaded the plug in back-up, as i thought I would back up the lot, before updating. However, when I activated the plug in, the screen went white. I then set debug to true, and now I recieve the following message both in admin and when visiting: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare get_comments_popup_template() (previously declared in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/wp-includes/template.php:484) in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/wp-includes/deprecated.php on line 3699

I work on a localhost with Mamp,

Can anybody help me out? I tried manually deactiviting the plug ins via the database by setting the active plug in option to 0.

I also tried renaming the theme folder, to rule out a theme problem.

    Best regards

Hi adsjerreram, did you get yours sorted? I have this same error in my logs. Like you I tried those things and nothing has worked.

Well there are ways around it. Basically what happens is that your wordpress update dident go all the way, and some files are left incomplete. You can either manually update wordpress, or you can resort to a backup.

Thanks, Mads, I uploaded it several times and I always do my updates manually. What we wound up doing was downloading a back-up database, saving it on to Mysql on my friend tech’s computer, and essentially redoing WordPress on a new server, and reconnected the data and plug-ins. Seemed to be the only way to do it. I have a feeling this one’s a big lemon. We had to get rid of Jetpack this time as the moment I reactivated it, WSOD came back.

Thank you for coming back to me. So many people don’t when their problem is solved, so I am really grateful.

    No problem 🙂

I actually had a lot of problems with the plug ins and theme when I updated. When I went back to the previously version of WordPress I couldent access my database, so I ended up during a fresh install on another mac, importing databases and a copy of the mamp folder, and then it worked like before.

Best of luck with you WP page!

    Best regards
