White Screen Of Death After Login – New Installation
-
I have very little knowledge with hosting and cpanel, php etc. and I need somebody to help me.
Basically my problem is that I get a white screen after login on a new installed blog.
I own a membership site and my old hosting provider installed a wordpress blog for me on a sub domain before.
Everything was working fine but after a couple of months I had to switch to another hosting provider because of some other issues.
I had a lot of trouble during the process because my main backup file was corrupted.
My new hosting provider was not able to restore my old blog after loading up my old database backup so he uploaded a new blog using softaculous but now I’m getting a white screen after login.
I have read about “white screen of death” in this forum and I know it can be caused by the plugins, theme, php memory limit or a corrupted wordpress installation.
I’ve had some plugins activated on my old blog but I’m not sure if that’s the problem since my hosting provider installed a new blog and he also tried to re-install it.
I was looking around in my cpanel (legacy file manager) and I can still see some files of my old blog.
Should I delete them?
Could this be the reason for the white screen of death?

After reading this in a thread:
“You need to log in to your webhost and check the wp-config.php. The values you’ve entered in there for the database, user and password have to match exactly with the actual database you’ve set up on your server.”
I was checking for wp-config.php in “Legacy File Manager” and found it in trash.
I don’t know if my hosting provider has put it there but I guess it doesn’t belong there…
Should I restore it?
Unfortunately my hosting provider doesn’t reply regulary so I hope to find some help in this forum… I’m thankful for every comment!
