White screen after upgrade to simply-poll 1.3

    I updated to the latest version (simply-poll 1.3) using wordpress dashboard.
    Wordpress confirmed upgrade OK.
    I clicked the link to return to plugin page.
    The page hung.
    On attempting to access site, a white screen displayed. Unable to access site or to log in as Administrator. Attempts to access site failed with a “Remote server or file not found” error.

    I logged into the host server and renamed wp-content/plugins/simply-poll to wp-content/plugins/simply-poll.old.

    My site immediately started working as before (but, obviously, without simply-poll)

    What can I now do to get simply-poll working correctly again?
