    RE: http://www.porkopolis.org/

I currently have the White Screen of Death after the latest upgrade to ZenCache v160222 from the most recent previous version.

Trying to access the site and wp-admin I get a white screen with “Server error – The website encountered an error while retrieving http://www.porkopolis.org/. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.” in the Opera browser and just a white screen with no text in Chrome and Firefox.

I am on shared hosting at BlueHost.com
    WP Version 4.4.2
    Apache Version 2.2.31
    PHP Version 5.4.24
    MySQL Version 5.5.42-37.1-log
    Architecture x86_64
    Operating System linux

All other plugins are updated to latest version and so is my site theme. I have already tried to disabled all plugins by changing the name of the “plugins” directory and I added ini_set('apc.cache_by_default', false); to the top of the wp-config file. Neither had any effect.

Perhaps one of the plugin authors can respond? Thank you!

@porkopolis If you delete wp-content/advanced-cache.php, are you able to login to the WP Admin?

@raamdev, thank you for the reply. I deleted wp-content/advanced-cache.php and now trying to login I see this text where before there was just a blank white screen.

“Server error 500 – The website encountered an error while retrieving http://www.porkopolis.org/pigcity7/wp-login.php. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.”

@porkopolis If you edit wp-config.php, do you see define('WP_CACHE', TRUE); at the top? If so, remove that.

Those two things (advanced-cache.php and define('WP_CACHE', TRUE);) and removing the ZenCache plugin folder itself from wp-content/plugins/, would completely remove ZenCache from the equation here. If you’re still seeing that error even after following those steps, then you probably need to contact your hosting company.

The only other thing that comes to mind is your .htaccess file–if that got corrupt somehow, that could throw 500 errors as well. However, ZenCache doesn’t touch the .htaccess file, so if it became corrupt then there’s something else that corrupted it.

@raamdev Thanks for all your help with this! Turns out this was MY FAULT and not ZenCache. I had some bad code in a plugin I was building that did not like your latest version of ZenCache… I had abandon the plugin, just not deleted it. Once I did and restarted ZenCache all is well.

ZenCache has made a huge difference in the speed on my site and I am excited about Comet Cache and what all else you have to come. Keep up the great work!
