Support » Installing WordPress » White page after switching servers

  • I moved my blog to a new server today and was uploading my old wp-content folder when the site went white on me.The site was displaying properly and then it was just gone.I cannot get inside of the admin panel either because all the pages are white so I can’t check to see if it is a theme issue or not.

Any help solving this problem would be most appreciated 🙂

  • Access the site using your ftp client, delete the whole shebang and reupload. If it does it again, consult your host tech support….

That’s pretty drastic for me V.I re-installed a whole new WordPress today and my wp-content folder has hundreds of images that take a reallllly long time to upload. 🙁

Huh. Well, redo everything but the images folder?

Ok, i actually redid the entire thing as you suggested and the site returned.I decided I would only re-upload the newest images which are located in the wp-conetent/up;oads folder. Now the admin panel is white and when I click on any of the links a pop up to dpwnload the php file pops up.In orther words if I can click on Presentation a pop up to download themes.php pops up.

Can’t imagine what the problem can be???????

Oh lawd… the whole site is white again now…

Ummmmm….. check with your new host to make sure they allow index.php as site index?

I have it sorted now.I uploaded all those images up folder by folder bit by bit and it finally worked without the page turning white.

    Thanks V 🙂
