I have listed about 35 countries in my Black List at this point, had a bot attack from Russia 2 days ago. Keep adding on to the list hourly.

    This plugin has worked great!

I have a small local business that relies only on an area about 10 km circle around my home in Ontario, Canada. No where else.
I have been making up a white list and wonder if anyone knows what would work better. Black or White lists?
One concerns is blocking out companies from countries whose WP plugins I use or other software companies who may be from a black list country.

    Hi Lawn,

Thank you so much your rating this plugin 5★!

This plugin can configure different matching rule on back-end and public facing pages aka front-end.

I think white list is always good for back-end to restrict countries where you live in or visit at.

As for front-end, less is better.

And also you had better to setup a human friendly page and respond code 503 (Service Unavailable) so as to show your site policy to your visitors from countries to be blocked.

You can refer to the document “Customizing the response“.

Please feel free to ask anything you concern.
    Thanks.

Thank you for your response. So you are saying a small local business may be the most secure to go with White List Block. Ever since this attack yesterday I feel very vulnerable and want to nail down the shutters and get a few dozen guard dogs to watch the door. To bad more could not be done to stop the people behind these attacks.
Happy to have your plugin, (I have my guard dogs with IP Geo Block)
