White border around new image

    I have a button in my theme that changes color on hover. I needed to change the hover color of the button and did so be creating a new png file in photoshop that matches the old file exactly (as far as I can tell) as the old file, except for the new color. However, when I use the new png file, the button appears to have a constant white border during hover or not.

    This is the page. look at the “Login” and “Register” buttons in the top right corner.

    Here’re the old and new png files.

    Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

    The issue you’re having isn’t a WordPress issue. It looks like the image might have been on a white background and you’ve used a wand tool to select and remove it. I don’t know what editor you’re using so try to find a background to transparent/alpha feature. That should solve the problem.

    I created the image in photoshop CS2 from scratch using a transparent background.

    The problem is definitely within the image.

    I created the image using the the layer from the original PSD file provided with my template by copying it to a new file and changing the color of the gradient overlay.
    I’ve linked to the original image file here. Can anyone tell me where the white border is coming from?

    Probably from the anti-aliased edges of the original white circles.

    I’d suggest creating new images from scratch.
