Support » Theme: Twenty Twenty-One » White Area Around Link Text When Clicked

    Hi,

    I’m using the Twenty Twenty One theme for my site. I’ve added a picture to use as the background to all my pages, and I’ve found that whenever I click on a link (to go to another page in my site, send an email etc.) that a white rectangle appears around the text I’m clicking. Is there a way to make the area around the actual text transparent so that the background image is still showing behind the link text? I’ve tried this in both Firefox and Edge and have the same problem in both browsers.

    Thanks,

    Mark

  • Hi,

    Can you please try adding the following to “Customizer – Additional CSS” …

    .site a:focus:not(.wp-block-button__link):not(.wp-block-file__button) {
        background: transparent;
    }

    If it works I’ll get it added to Options for Twenty Twenty-One plugin.

    Thanks,

    Oliver

    Hi Oliver,

    Yep, that worked – thanks so much.

    Just to update this thread, we have updated the “Customizer – Nav Options – Prevent Black Background” option to include this. We’ll update the title of this option to “Prevent Background” next time (D’oh).
