Which version is correct?

    Hi
    my WordPress installation tells me that “Zerif Lite 2.0.5 is available”. But it looks like the latest version here is 1.8.5.16.
    I have downloaded 1.8.5.16 zip file to try on my local copy of my site but need to know that it is the same version that WordPress will update to. If not I will do it manually.
    Can you please tell me which is correct and why WordPress sees a different version?

    Hi,
    You have downloaded the latest version 1.8.5.16 of theme. So you can install it without any problem.

    Hi thanks for that but can you also clear up why WordPress says the latest version is 2.0.5 and if I went ahead and installed that on my live site, which version would be installed?

    Wordpress should not show to you like this. Share the screenshot of this issue through this tool https://droplr.com/.

    Hello,

    Do you download the theme from wordpress.org or themeisle?

    Both versions are correct, if you are using theme from themeisle account then the version would be 2.0.5. If it is from wordpress.org then version is 1.8.5.16

    Here is a screenshot of the Zerif Lite 2.0.5 update notice on my WordPress.
    Poonam – Sorry but I don’t understand how both can be correct. Why run two different versioning systems. That just confuses things for everyone, I’m sure not least yourselves.
