• I was wondering which stat count is better to use for my blooger. I’ve seen a few mentioned on the forum, but is there one particular one that seems to give the most realistic count?

Also, is there one particular stat count that tells you directly how many hits are specifically from “google” or my main website?

  • lol…it’s only been two hours since Beel was complaining that this threat keeps being repeated…

Now, here I was wondering where the “threat” was in coolmomo’s post! I was half-expecting some high drama. After following your post I see you meant “thread!”

Sorry, I usually look through the search forum for answers before posting my own, but this time i skimmed really quickly through it and didn’t find anything i liked so i posted here. I think I will try StatCount first. Thanks.

I use awstats to keep track of search engine activity, etc., but I use StatCounter.com to get a more realistic look at visitor activity. StatCounter lets you set a blocking cookie so it doesn’t count your own visits. If your site isn’t terribly high traffic, or if you’re doing a lot of active development, and are re-checking your pages frequently, then self visits can skew the stats.

I also use statcounter. There are options that let you find out which users came from search engines and who all came from other places.

I’ve also used sitemeter but find statcounter to be more feature rich (i am obviously referring to free versions of both).

And I use CG-Referrer (but only once despite the number of times I repeat it in the forum ;-). Oh, and I was opining, not “complaining” – though should I do it often enough I suppose it could be construed as “nagging” (and for those who have been around long enough, that may already be the case 😉

It is always best to look before you leap.

When does “opining” become “complaining” or “nagging”?

you can use it in english or in many other languages,

it is the simplest counter I have seen in the last year..
    uniques,
    hits
visits per day, month , year
    refererrs,
    domains,
    last 100 visits
    donwloadcounter
    linkcounter
how many sites are read per visit
    the time of any visit
    bots
    search enginees
    keywort analyzer

you need mysql and php on your webspace
    kindly regards
    Monika

    StatTraq for me.

Can StatTraq show the most recent xx# referrers? Instead of just a total of referring sites with their counts?

I like the feature of ShortStat that shows where your last 20 or so hits came from.

CG-Referrer will, though I recommend only doing so in the Admin page and not to the world.

ugh, sorry about the triple post… site was lagged, and I guess all three clicks registered somehow..
