 * Hi,
 * I was wondering is there a simple, user friendly and most importantly effective
security plugin for wordpress blogs that stops the hackers to the maximum extent
   as possible.
 * I have seen and read about a few plugins
bulletproof, all in one security and
   wp security
 * but was wondering which one would suit the most for my blog, just for the reference
   my blog is [chiprip.com](http://chiprip.com)
 * Also, is it really necessary to use a security plugin or change any core files
to be more secure. Or wordpress is already too much secure to fight hackers or
   any other thing

 * Core files do not have to be changed, but even WordPress suggests this:
 * BulletProof Security does a great job of guarding the overall installation (via
htaccess), and Wordfence Security does a great job of keeping order at the door
and on the inside along with checking *all* files for modifications.

 * So are you suggesting that I should install both or should I choose one of them..
 * And also there is this Better WP security, but it says that they dont follow
up regualar support forum, instead we can choose the premium feature to buy tickets
   for support.

 * I use both since each does things the other does not do. BPS hardens htaccess
and WF deals with actual traffic and checks files. I have heard there are plugins
that can do both things, but I have no actual experience with any others…and
you make a great point about support! BPS has some of the best support anywhere,
and the author of WF is also very active in support.

 * Thanks leejosepho.. this thread is resolved
