Support » Plugin: Variation Swatches for WooCommerce » Which product image shows up by default?

  • Resolved milauskas

Until just now I thought that the default product image that shows on the product page when you first load it was the first variation image for a product. That seemed to be the case for all the variable products I had which all had more than one variation (e.g., colors red, black, lime, etc.). Am I wrong? Is it, in fact, the featured image that appears when a product page first loads?

I also have some products that don’t have variations, but I wanted to make them into variable products so that we could use the variation image as the photo that shows up on the product page while using another image (the one we set as the featured image) as the one that would show up on our shop page.

However, if you visit the URL I put up above you’ll see that it’s the featured image that shows up when the page first loads (not the variation image–even though I have only one “variation”). Thanks for any help in clearing this up for me. And if there is a way to set which image DOES appear first on page load I’d love to know.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Is your issue has been fixed? Please let me know.

    Thank You

    Hi Ahemd,

I just replied to the ticket I opened about this. No, it doesn’t appear to be solved. You mentioned setting a default attribute, but I don’t see anything in attributes about defaults.

The products really only have one attribute which is color. And the variations are the different colors.

In variations I do set the order of the variations so that one color is the first. Is this what you’re referring to?

Hey, I found it! It’s under Variations. Default form values. I set it to the desired color and it works. Thanks!!!
