# Which plugins

 * Can anyone recommend plugins for the following tasks, preferrably easy to install!
 * 1. Web based upload manager to allow me to manage the stuf I’ve uploaded into
   my content folder (move, delete, copy, upload, etc),
 * 2. Image tool, to allow me to build thumbs, resize images. Also a insert option
   on post screen to allow me to select an image/thumb (add link to thumb) and position
   into the editor box.
 * 3. Track referrers and exits.
 * 4. Track visitors/hits without to much privacy concerns!

 * 1. There is no upload manager in WordPress for files, only graphic images, and
   that is found within the Admin > Options > Miscellaneous section. You will need
   to get an FTP program, and there are many free ones, or use Windows Explorer,
   the default file manager program in Windows. Just type `ftp://yoursitename.com/`
   and then enter the password and user name and you have a familiar interface to
   which you can copy files to.
 * 2. WordPress is a blogging tool, not a “do everything” tool. There are many graphics
   programs out there, some that may already be in your computer, and many free 
   or inexpensive. I’ve been using Jasc’s PaintShop Pro for ages and it’s very powerful
   and will do what you want, and affordable shareware.
 * 3. Again, while there are [WordPress Plugins for Statistics](http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/Statistics)
   check with your host server to see if they have the ability to allow you to view
   your site statistics.
 * 4. Ditto. You can do this with the above statistics plugins or through your host
   server.
 * WordPress is incredibly powerful, but like most good programs, it focuses on 
   what it can do, and not replace closely related but already available products.
 * If you are looking for a full-bore Content Management System (CMS), you might
   want to keep looking and skip WordPress. It does a good job emulating CMS, but
   you have to make a lot of compromises.

   Does everything you asked.
