• Hi,

I was wondering if there is a function/method in wordpress to determine which page a user has come from.

I need to adapt the styling depending on the page they have just come from. For example:

A website has two sides. A summer section and a winter section. When on the summer side the menu items are all green, and when on the winter all menu items are blue. The items that appear in the menu also depend on which side of the site the user is looking at.

There are however some menu items that appear for both the summer and the winter side of the site. If a user clicks on a common menu item, the site needs to stay the same colour as it was when the user clicked the link – Green if they came from the summer side, and blue if they come from the winter side.

I therefor need to be able to determine when building a page, which page the user was previously on. Is there a way to do this already? If not, does anyone have any suggestions how i could do it?

    Many Thanks,

    – Oliver

  • I am wondering the same thing… how to change how a single post is viewed depending on whether it was viewed from a thematic “gateway” or from an author “gateway” – in either case the secondary navbar would show different things……
