 * I am setting up a website using Bitnami WordPress Stack and an Avada Theme. I
   am no coder and I am no programmer so I realise that I have a little learning
   curve in front of me, which is fine.
 * My Questions is I am setting up my cloud server but have so many options, which
   configuration should I take? The website is a simple tourism website: [http://campalta.bitnamiapp.com/wordpress/](http://campalta.bitnamiapp.com/wordpress/)
 * The options I am given are here: [http://prntscr.com/7nv2g2](http://prntscr.com/7nv2g2)
 * Which boot source: Image, Snapshot, Volume or private image.
    Linux or Windows
   The list of images you can see on the scroll down screen shot are: cent, core,
   deban and fedora, the rest are visible. WOW – Any Suggestions will be greatly
   appreciated, or if you read this and think “what an idiot, hire a pro” I understand
   but thanks for reading, hope I put a smile on your face.
 * Thank you very much.

   servers……yeeeee, what am I doing? Hahahaha.

 * Firstly, you’re not the first person to ask these questions, so don’t feel like
   you’re doing anything “wrong”. 🙂 No one knows this stuff straight off, and it’s
   all just learning as we go along.
 * As for suggestions, I’d go for a Linux system, mainly because they’ll suport
   a LAMP stack out-of-the-box, which is alot easier than trying to configure a
   Windows server for WordPress. It will also most likely be a cheapr option thanks
   to the Windows licencing fees that you’d need to pay as well.
 * As for the actual OS, most are OK, but I’d perosnally stick with CentOS as that’s
   what I’ve seen used by most of the hosting serves that I’ve worked with. Having
   said that, pretty much any of the list are fine, but osme are more “bleeding
   edge’ than others.
 * I’d also suggest that you look at an extra option of getting server management
   as well, mainly because running your own server does take time and knowledge
   and it’s very easy to break something when you’re running as `root`.

 * Thanks for your input Catacaustic,
 * Someone also mentioned to me that I may be better just using a WordPress Hosting
   Service so I do not need to be too involved with the Configuration, Setup and
   other fairly complex processes that go along with the route I’m looking at.
 * I am a little concerned that I may be attempting to bite of more than I can chew
   as the actual development of the site is tricky enough for me.
 * What do you think?
 * Thanks Again Man.

 * If you don’t know about server configuration and management I would strongly
   suggest going with a shared hosting package, or a managed WordPress host. The
   reason is that with that the hosting company will look after things for you.
   When you run your own server, you are the tech guy and you need to have all of
   the answers when something goes wrong.

 * I think you could be right catacaustic,
 * However my concerns with Shared Hosting is that the AVADA Theme is a little heavy
   on code I have read and I am worried about loading terms, albeit in design I
   am trying to keep things simple. I have also looked at Managed Server but the
   prices I have found so far are around 80euro per month which is a little out
   of my budget.
 * Any Ideas?

 * I’ve got Magento sites running in shared hosting. If they run then your site
   will. The best way to go with situations like this is to get a cheaper account
   first then move to something more later on if the site warrants it.

 * Agree with catacaustic, shared hosting will most likely be fine for you. If you
   find you are getting 10,000 visitors a day… you can move then 🙂
 * If you did really really really want to stay with your current host – I’m sure
   the guys at Bitnami will be happy to set up a standard WordPress server install
   for you – from their homepage they imply you can practically do it with just
   one click… however you might find the maintenance tricky…

 * Catacuastic, Colin.
 * I think your right. Thanks for you input on this matter.
 * For Now…Cased Closed. I’ll try out Shared Hosting, then any issues thereafter
   I’ll change it as needs must or not.
 * Kind Regards,
 * SD
