    Hi,
Great Plugin! Am discovering and exploring it right now. The question I have is about posting to a specific category. Is it so that the short code should be placed in the subject field and not in the message?
    <category name>: Real subject

    Could then be

    <Artists>: Test post

I cannot yet get it to work. Firstly it does not override the default category. Secondly, the colon becomes part of the name of the post.

Here is an overview on categories: http://postieplugin.com/faq/override-post-categories/

If your category is “Artists” then your subject should look like:

    Artists: My post title

Hi Wayne and thanks for your support,

I have tested this in the Subject field of the message:
    [bertdeivert_copperheadrun] Our homepage is live
Bert Deivert & Copperhead Run: Home page goes live
bertdeivert_copperheadrun: Our home page is live

    And the result is:
    1) Post keeps the whole string from the Subject field, example: [bertdeivert_copperheadrun] Our homepage is live
instead of just Our homepage is live
    2) The post is not put in the correct category, instead it is placed in the Default category

    What could be wrong?

    Best regards, Jonas

Looks like WordPress does some magic to categories with a “&” in them. I’ve fixed this in the next version. In the meantime you can get it to work by either using the category ID or by renaming it to remove the “&”.

    Thanks a lot Wayne!
You are right. It works with for instance the category
    Mona Johansson: Test Subject

But not when there is the &

    Hi Wayne,
Updated to the new version just now, AND category name with & works fine. Thanks! / Jonas
