where is the table to be searched identified?

  • I realize that in strayhorn, Pages are not searched by default, and I have found a plugin to address that, but I have another question. I’m going to try my hand at writing a plugin to do what I want if I can get a few pointers.

Where in the code is the specific table to be searched identified? In other words, when a user does a search using the default search mechanism, where does WP compute the correct table of the database to search?

I’m making the assumption that the code concats $table_prefix with “posts” and then searches that table. What I would like to do is to provide some kind of functionality that will allow an admin who may run multiple blogs out of the same database to perform the actual search in all of the “_posts” tables before returning the results.

    Pointers welcome.
