[Resolved] where is the page template option??

  • I have hunted high and low. I cannot find where the page template option is stored. By that I mean:

create page->set page template (in dropdown)->wp displays the correct template when the page is loaded.

WHERE? is WP getting the info? Can’t find it in the database anywhere. Excuse me if it’s staring me in the face.

    Thanks
    Sheri

  • Templates are part of your theme, which will be in wp-content/themes/your-theme-name.

    thanks ceejayoz.

let me try and explain it better.

When I assign a template to a specific page (either when i create the page or edit it), WP somehow records the template that should be used with that specific page. Then, on page load, the information regarding the template I assigned is recalled and used for that page#.

The question is…where is the information located? Can’t find it anywhere. If it’s not in the database, is it being written to a file?… I’ve looked everywhere!!

Completely forget it…what a dolt. The options are located in the postmeta table. I saw them there but it didn’t register. I bleary eyed from the screen.
