Can you see the directory named wp-content? Plugins would live inside the wp-content folder, so you need to be able to open the wp-content folder to see the plugins folder inside of it.
Check inside the WordPress folder you have there – there should be several subfolders. One of them is wp-content; and inside wp-content there should be another subfp;der by the name /plugins.

Hi, Moshu,
My hosting service uses Cpanel X.
There were no subfolders in the WordPress directory that was created by Fantastico when I first installed WordPress.
I tried creating the subdirectories; I now have this:
/ .fantasticodata / WordPress / wp-content / plugins /
I copied the simpltags.php into that directory.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like WordPress knows it’s there. When I open the plug-ins tab in my Admin the simple tags file isn’t listed.
Is there something else I should try?
It sounds like your host installed WP for you. Try asking them for access to the wp-content/plugins directory.

Hi, filo, no!!!
I was looking in the wrong place!!!
Just found the right directory. brb
Ah…. your wordpress install shouldn’t be inside anything named “.fantasticodata”. That’s a host folder only, don’t put anything in there!
When you access your file manager, you should see a folder icon next to the words public_html. Click on that folder icon. What opens is a list of all the files in your domain. In there you should see a wordpress folder, or possibly a blog folder or another name if you opted to call it something else during the install. Click on the folder next to the name wordpress, or blog, or whatever you called it during install. When it opens you should see folder icons for wp-admin, wp-content, and wp-includes.
Click on the folder next to the words wp-content. When it opens you should see a folder icon next to the word plugins. Click on that folder icon, and you should see a black up-pointing arrow next to the words upload files. Click on the arrow and navigate using the browse button to where the files you want in the plugins folder are located on your computer.
