I created my website in 2014 using the free WordPress Thoughts theme. I still like it, but am doing a long over-due update.

All is going fine EXCEPT for one thing. I have a slideshow which appears at the top of my homepage. My Homepage is set to show my posts. The slideshow is above one of my posts (entitled MY WORK), which has a been set to Gallery format, so I’m presuming that it’s in that post that the slideshow is generated. But I can’t find where it is picking up the gallery images from and I need to change some of the very outdated images. If I go to the original post, there is nothing to show me where the images are coming from. I would add a screen shot but can’t see how to do this on the forum.

I have searched high and low, spent hours on trying to solve this…. and the specific theme documentations seems to have disappeared. The slideshow works beautifully, and I don’t want to change it, but I do want to change some of the images.

I think it may be something to do with a plugin – I have one called Symple Shortcodes, which was out of date, I’ve now updated it, but still not having any luck. Thanks you…..

Using my browser inspector I see that the slider is using classes with names:

      flexslider-container
      gallery-slider flexslider

This may be a clue as to where they are coming from, where they are configured and managed.

Wow, thank you for replying! Personally I think it’s to do with an old plug-in I used when I created the website all those years ago, maybe Symple Shortcodes plugin or maybe WP Gallery Custom Links plugin which doesn’t seem to be supported any more. But why would it still work if that was the case? Hmmmmm… have tried to replace it but haven’t yet found any free plugin which does the same. Thanks for you input though. Regards, Kate

Not sure it matters what any of us think. It is about finding your slider code.

What I would do in your situation is search all the source code in themes and plugins for the class names I found above. I use Linux so this is an easy
    grep -r flexslider-container
if you are on Mac or Windows I do not know.
