Support » Fixing WordPress » Where is config stored?

  • I’ve migrated my wordpress 1.2 site from one server to another, and have moved over the whole MySQL database (which I can successfully query at mysql console) and wordpress files – which are stored in the *same path tree/name* as before. DNS has been updated accordingly, so it’s even the same host. Only thing changed is MySQL DB name and username – i’ve updated wp-config.php to reflect this. However, I still get the “We’re having a little trouble selecting the proper database for WordPress.” error at the site.

What other configuration files/options need changing? I’ve dug around but can’t figure out why it’s not working.

    Thanks for any help.

That message means it can see inside the mysql (so the pw and username are good), so it’s just the db_name.

There is nowhere else – wp-config.php is it right now.

    Hmm… thanks for that.

I stared and stared at the wp-config.php file but didn’t notice a problem…. But as you suspected – it was right there. Thanks for pinpointing the error ; a ‘b’ and ‘d’ look very similar in a boring text console screen!
