# where does wordpress install to

 * Hi. Apologies if I sound stupid but I am very new to wordpress. I installed it
   on my PC to see what it was like to use and, so far good. However when I logged
   off for a while then came back to the machine I could not find any reference 
   to the wordpress program and no sign of an exe file to start it. Does anyone 
   know where it installs to? I am running windows 7 and I cant see it in either
   program files or program files (x86) which is where you expect to find most programs.
   Even a search of the c drive failed to find a wordpress.exe anywhere.

 * There is no WordPress .exe file. You need a web server to run WordPress. Is this
   a wordpress.com site or a self-hosted WordPress install?

 * You’ll want to a do a search for any of the following folders, which will be 
   found in the root installation of your WordPress install.
 * /wp-content/
    /wp-admin/ /wp-includes/
 * or search for
    wp-config.php

 * Hi folks. Thanks for the quick replies. As I said I am really new to wordpress.
   I am so used to windows that I didn’t even think that there might not be an exe
   file, so thanks for telling me that esmi. At the moment I don’t actually have
   a website up I was just using wordpress on my own PC to experiment with what 
   could be done with it so, in a way this is my server esmi. Evan I found the folders
